Day 110: 6.28.12

It was Jason’s (daddy’s) 28th birthday yesterday! I had errands to run so Sofie was being watched by her great-aunt (when I write that it sounds so old, but she’s not!), so I got a chance to meet with Jason once he was off of work in Seattle. I bought him his favorite dessert from the Cheesecake Factory (Dulce de Leche, anyone?) and we grabbed a quick snack and drink while we were there.

After we got home, Sofie in tow, we had a nice quiet dinner with Jason’s sister and dad. Overall I would say Jason’s birthday went well, the weather was nice, I got to spend some one-on-one time with him as well as some family time. Sofie was good, and was giving him lots of love; but, methinks the fun may not be over yet…

Sofie didn’t give a great birthday picture for her dad… more like a scowl, but hey, what can you do? To her, it was just another day. 🙂

Sofia 365: Day 109

Day 109: 6.27.12

Sofia and I went back home on Wednesday. It was pretty decent out and the drive was nice. Jason was certainly glad to have Sofie back home.
We took these pictures in the late morning while we were getting ready to leave. She was not a happy camper… kept trying to get into everything we were packing. She’s made a habit of being overly-dramatic and wriggling on the floor whenever we reprimand her. Hopefully this is just a phase.

Regardless of the red eyes, she still makes a pretty good picture.

Sofia 365: Day 108

Day 108: 6.26.12

I remember Tuesday was a particularly cold and dreary day, I don’t think I stepped out of the house even once! I spent most of the day organizing some old paperwork; I don’t know why but I have a habit of saving almost any and all receipts. I had managed to accrue years worth of receipts and I was sorting through them most of the day. It was a bit pointless to sort through them, but at the same time it was kind of interested to see my life printed on little strips of paper. Groceries bought, ticket stubs, it was kind of weird.
I gave up sorting through all of them about half way through, we just ended up burning them in the fire pit out back after dinner.

Sofie was super cute all layered up; I do like that little dress quite a bit… and with a silly face to boot!

Sofia 365: Day 107

Goodness gracious! And another week gone just like that… This one particularly seemed to just fly by. Monday, I drove back to my parent’s house after running some morning errands. I ended up staying for a few nights after I arrived.

It was great to see Sofie after such a long, exhausting weekend.

What a sight for sore eyes, and she actually posed for a picture!

Day 106: 6.24.12

Alrighty, we’re all caught up for now!

Sunday was a slower day, but I still had another wedding to do, so didn’t get too much of a chance to sleep in. It was such a great day for a wedding too. Also, it was Pride weekend, I kind of wish I went to check it out for a bit, but there’s always next year!

After getting home I spent some time organizing the house (my work never stops!). I just don’t know how it ends up getting so messy sometimes, but I enjoy cleaning and organizing (totally ocd) so it isn’t necessarily something I do begrudgingly.

Here’s Sofie from Sunday, look at her in her cute summer clothes; purposely or not, my mom had her in perfect socks for Pride too! 🙂

Sofia 365: Day 105

Day 105: 6.23.12

Saturday was such a long day… I had a traditional Indian wedding to do that day, and since the ceremony started in the early morning, I was up by 2:30, yes AM, to get to the bride’s house by 3:30 to do her hair and makeup. I also had a hair trial that afternoon, then I came back in the evening to change the bride’s look for her evening ceremony. Besides a 1 hour nap in-between clients in the morning, I probably ended up being awake for close to 22 hours that day.

Needless to say, I won’t be doing that again anytime soon. Though I will say, it was worth it to get the unique experience to work on such a special wedding and do something a little out of my comfort zone. (Tune in to my Beauty Blog for updates and photos from that wedding, coming soon!).

Sofia 365: Day 104

Day 104: 6.22.12

Friday, I met my mom downtown again for lunch and we did a little more work on the studio before my trial session that afternoon. My mom took Sofie for the weekend as I had a jam-packed schedule with weddings and trials.

Here’s Sofie that morning before we left for Seattle, it was not too bright out and Sofie was moving, so sorry it’s a bit blurry!

Happy Monday everyone! It’s been another long and busy weekend, and now it’s time to catch up on Sofie’s photos.

So let’s see what I’ve been up to…

Thursday, I spent the day at the beauty studio working on painting and decorating. It’s really starting to come together and I’m so excited to see it all finished!

Sofia went over to her grandma’s house for the day, it was so nice out, I kind of wish I spent some time outside! Sunny days are few and far between here, but hopefully I’ll have more chances this summer to spend time outside with Sofie and family.

Sofia 365: Day 102

Day 102: 6.20.12

Ahh, it’s nice to be all caught up.

Today was such a gorgeous day. The sun was out, it was warm (almost hot), and I got to spend some time outside with Sofie today which was great. I took her out to Seattle and played in Cal Anderson park for a little bit.

I do miss living on Capitol Hill… Hope to move back sometime soon.

Sofie made a few friends at the park today. I never really noticed until recently how big she is for her age. She’s just 15 months old and she has been bigger than most babies/toddlers we’ve met that are OLDER than her! She was even the same size as a 20 month old we met at the park.

It’s kind of crazy, I mean, I’m so small, she must get it from her dad. I swear, by the time she’s in her double digits she’ll be taller than me.

Glad I had a chance to pull out one of Sofie’s newest outfits today, love that little romper, it’s just been too cold to wear it out!

Her expression here is great too.

Sofia 365: Day 101

Day 101: 6.19.12

Yesterday was a busy morning of errands. Meeting makeup artist Krystal (check her out at Smashing Divas) that donated a few mascara wands to my “lost kit” fund, dropping off a few things at the studio in Seattle, grocery shopping and then heading home.

It’s kind of nice getting things done earlier in the day, it makes my the rest of the day just run so much smoother. Now, if only Sofie would nap… I even took her outside for a bit to play, but no dice.

Well, at least she’s starting to go to bed a little earlier now…

She wouldn’t really hold still for me yesterday, pent-up energy I suppose. So this is the best one I got!
